Jenna's quilt

Jenna P. is getting married soon.
This beautiful quilt was made by her loving grandmothers and she was the family member chosen to receive it last Christmas.
It is a lovely example of a traditional, whole-cloth, applique quilt which was very popular with our mothers and grandmothers in the years prior to the 1970's. It may have come as a mail order kit complete with pattern, fabric and embroidery floss. The scalloped pink border adds just the right finishing touch.
What kind of flowers are those? Are they Apple Blossoms or something else?
For many years, quilts like this have been placed on display at wedding receptions.
(Was it a good luck charm since you have become
engaged to be married since you received it?)
Dear Jenna, this is a special heirloom made by wonderful women who love you.
P.S. We love you too!!
